Black Pepper Yachts

The Black Pepper Code C.69 is for the owner who wants a custom-made performance multihull with individuality, speed, comfort and architectural conviction.

I value the Black Pepper Code C.69 because it shows that Black Pepper’s design language is not limited to monohulls. This 69-foot carbon performance-cruising catamaran brings the same discreet confidence, technical seriousness, and neo-retro intelligence to the multihull world. Designed for offshore cruising and racing, she is not conceived as a conventional large catamaran but as a highly individual platform for owners who want space and comfort without sacrificing the sensation, precision, and purpose of a serious sailing yacht.

What makes the Code C.69 particularly compelling is the yard’s ability to shape the yacht around the owner, rather than forcing the owner into a fixed product. The early examples already show how far this can go, with different superstructures, interior concepts, helm arrangements and technical choices reflecting distinct owner priorities. That is exactly where Black Pepper becomes interesting at this level: the yacht can be adapted in layout, atmosphere, equipment, materials, systems, rigging and deck arrangement, while retaining the underlying carbon platform, performance logic and unmistakable Black Pepper identity.

The Code C.69 also deserves attention because the performance ambition is not treated as a decorative claim. The carbon construction, light displacement, powerful sail plan, efficient hulls, generous bridgedeck clearance, and short-handed sailing concept all point to a yacht designed for real passage-making, not just marina presence. At the same time, the large aft cockpit, private cabins with en-suite bathrooms, owner-focused accommodation, saloon, hotel systems, outdoor galley and cruising autonomy support the comfort expected by private owners and guests on board.

My advisory role is to bring structure, discretion and judgement to such a personal commission. With a yacht like the Code C.69, the important questions concern not only the design but also the intended programme, crew model, performance appetite, accommodation plan, technical systems, interior atmosphere, ownership structure, and long-term management. I guide the client through those decisions, represent their interests in discussions with the yard, and help ensure that the final yacht is not merely impressive but coherent, deeply personal, and properly prepared for the way it will be sailed, hosted, and enjoyed.
